Shannon Curran

Shannon Curran is a third generation local to the Monterey Peninsula.  Raised in Pacific Grove, her love for the bay has always been a deep part of her identity.  “I can remember how magical it all seemed as a child; the sound of the sea lions and the fog horn, finding sea stars at Lovers Point, hunting for Monarch Butterflies in George Washington Park, roasting marshmallows at Carmel Beach, camping in Big Sur, and noticing the Milky Way at night as we pulled into our driveway.  I still see that magic here and I want to share it.  We are so blessed to call this community Home and I want help others fulfill their dream of finding their home here.”

By late childhood her family moved to Los Angeles County.  While in college for film and photography at the California State University Northridge, she discovered a love for anatomy and studied massage therapy at the Esalan founded Institute of Psycho-Structural Balancing (IPSB) in Culver City.  Once certified she quickly moved back to where her heart always belonged, Monterey!  She practiced massage at the Mind Body Therapy Center, The Vista Blue Spa at the Monterey Plaza Hotel, and the Casa Palmero Spa in Pebble Beach.

As Shannon’s passion to learn more about the human body grew, she decided to go back to school to train as a Surgical Technologist.  Upon graduation, she was hired by the world’s leading medical device company, Stryker.  Contracted to Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital, she successfully implemented a full equipment transition in their Operating Room and was acknowledged as Employee of the Quarter by Stryker in 2009.  Concurrently she managed a new cadaver lab with ArthroCare.  Once her contracts had been completed she was back to assisting surgeons in the operating room.

She was honored to be hired as a private Surgical Technologist for the prestigious Plastic Surgeons, Dr. Berkowitz and Dr. Zeidler, where she had the opportunity to participate in a lecture at the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeon’s annual conference in Boston.  She also specialized in Cesarean Sections and spent many years working in Labor and Delivery at Good Samaritan Hospital, San Jose.  She is now thrilled to be settled working in the Outpatient Surgery Center at the Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula (CHOMP).

“Like most, when I started my family my priorities and my interests changed.  The idea of homeownership in this amazing community seemed scary and near impossible, so I decided to educate myself in real estate to figure it all out.  Whether I was practicing massage or when I am assisting in a surgical procedure, I am helping an individual.  Now I also want to help families and do more for the community in which we will be raising our son.  That is what makes the real estate business most exciting for me.  I can really relate to our clients and I want to help take the “scary” out of a truly rewarding time in someone’s life.”

Shannon is a successful Realtor whose previous skills have trained her to not only be assertive, organized, diligent, and thorough, but also to be mindful of people’s needs and compassionate.   She is a great contributor to the DeLuca Real Estate Team and is a member of the National Association of Realtors, California Association of Realtors, and the Monterey County Association of Realtors.  Shannon loves spending time with her incredibly supportive husband, her son, and huskies.  She thoroughly enjoys horseback riding and is Advanced Open Water Scuba certified.
